The annual Cattle Research Network-day
CPH Cattle researchers will participate in the annual Cattle Research Network-day at AU-Viborg (Foulum) 12 November 2026.
Researchers with an interest in cattle are invited to the annual Cattle Research Network-day at AU-Viborg , which will be held on Thursday 12 November 2026 from 9:30 to 15:30.
This year’s program will have a strong focus on the socalled ‘Cattle Mission 2035’ and research perspectives thereof, including societal expectations to the cattle sector and research community.
It will be an interesting day with lots of opportunities to discuss these with colleagues from many different institutions and backgrounds.

- 10.00-10.30 Livestock production is a societal issue: Lessons from the ‘pig election’ for cattle research by Eimear Theresa Mc Loughlin (Tenure track Assistant Professor, Department of Anthropology, University of Copenhagen)
- 10.30-11.00 Cattle Mission 2035 by Ida Storm (Director for Sector Cattle, Danish Agriculture & Food Council) + TBA
- 11.00-11.15 Coffee break
- 11.15-11:30 Introduction to Cattle Collab by Rasmus Bak Stephansen (Tenure track Assistant Professor) and Mogens Sandø Lund (Centre Director, Quantitative Genetics and Genomics Aarhus University)
- 11:30-12:00 Scientific discussion across network groups with guiding questions
- 12.00-13.00 Lunch
- 13.00-15.30 Network meetings

- 13:00-13:30 Inspirational talk about the 2026 Citizens’ panel for Animal Welfare by Postdoc Ingrid Helene Brandt (Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen)
- 13:30-13:45 Reactions and perceptions expressed by citizens visiting an exhibition about intensive livestock production by Associate Professor Nathalia Brichet (Department of Veterinary and Animal Science, University of Copenhagen)
- 13:45-14:30 Group discussions about what research is needed and how research can be approached in new ways, in new collaborations etc. to contribute to future demands to cattle production in Denmark.
- 14:15-14:45 Coffee, tea, cake
- 14:45-15:15 Plenary discussion of the group suggestions
- 15:15-15:30 Evaluation and inputs for future network meetings
