About CPH Cattle

Center for Research in Cattle Production and Health enhances, consolidates and promotes the profile of cattle research in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen. CPH Cattle is the platform for greater efforts in research, innovation and education, and closer collaboration with regulatory services, industries and universities on the national and international level.

The unique aspect of CPH Cattle is that we have brought together researchers with background and skills in both animal and veterinary sciences. This combination of research skills gives us an especially strong position for addressing the challenges of Danish dairy and beef production.

Our research areas include animal health and welfare, sustainable and cost-effective production, environmental effects and product quality. CPH Cattle will also contribute to strengthen the cattle sector in the BSc and MSc programs of veterinary medicine and animal science.

CPH Cattle was formed by the two veterinary departments at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen:

Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (IKV)
Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (IVH)

The center is administratively anchored at the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and Professor Liza Rosenbaum Nielsen from the same department is the head of the centre.

The activities are planned in collaboration with the centre's research groups and with advice from the departments' management committees.

Technical Steering Committee

CPH Cattle’s specific activities are continuously developed by the Technical Steering Committee, which consists of a group of academic representatives from each of the participating research groups. This group is responsible for the academic organization of the center activities and for implementing activities within the allocated budget.
